Mass Effect: Andromeda — Review

The ~150 hours I’ve put into the Mass Effect trilogy are probably on the lower end of the scale but man did I love those games.  My version of Commander Shepard was a renegade to the core with a soft spot for his squad members.  The fact that I couldn’t save both Tali and Legion in Mass Effect 3 because of a single choice I made in Mass Effect 2 still bothers me all these years later.  It’s easy to see why Mass Effect: Andromeda made my most anticipated games of 2017 list.

I’ve poured a little over 40 hours into Bioware’s newest addition to the franchise and I have to agree with Alex’s first impressions.  Mass Effect: Andromeda is a good Mass Effect game that reaches too far at times but still hits enough high notes.

Mass Effect: Andromeda has a lot to see and more to do but not enough polish to put it on a pedestal.

Mass Effect: Andromeda — First Impressions

Generally speaking, this article avoids spoilers.  However, I will include names of squad members and planets and vaguely reference some of the plot and side quests.  I will not ruin any big moments but if you’re looking to go into the game knowing nothing, this may not be for you.

I’m about 15-20 hours into Mass Effect: Andromeda and even though I know I’ve barely scratched the surface, in many ways it feels like I’ve delved so far.  My review is going to be limited as there’s still so much to explore and discover but these first impressions will hopefully be of value until Matt finishes the game and writes a complete review.  With the formalities out the way, here’s my take on Bioware’s newest game.

April Fool’s Day 2014 in Video Games

It’s April Fool’s day, which means nothing on the internet can be trusted.  That is especially true in the world of video games, where many prominent studios and teams come up with some downright dirty stories.  Some things do end up being legit, though, as Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon was first seen on April Fool’s day last year.  Aside from the old standby of Half Life 3 being confirmed, which this Swedish retailer actually ran with, here are my favorites from this year:

It’s April Fool’s day, so be careful what you believe!
